Your vocabulary

Kiki stores the words, translations, notes, tags and practice records you create so you can collect and learn vocabulary. Existing app versions can synchronize through Apple iCloud. Exported files are saved or shared where you choose.

Translation and photos

When you request translation, text is sent to Google’s Vertex AI through Firebase AI. For photo translation, the app recognizes text on your device and can send a reduced-size image with that text to generate contextual results. Avoid submitting photos or text you do not want processed by this service. Google’s processing is governed by its applicable service terms; this policy does not promise that provider logs or copies are immediately deleted.

Purchases and app usage

Apple handles App Store payments. RevenueCat processes purchase and entitlement information and app user identifiers to help manage premium access. Kiki does not receive your full payment-card details.

Depending on the app version and configuration, Kiki uses PostHog for product events, installation and device context, and feature flags. App and infrastructure providers may process technical information, such as IP addresses, request logs and error information, to operate their services. This is why Kiki should not be described as collecting no information.

Upcoming cloud sync and MCP

The following features are in development and are not yet enabled for general release. Cloud-enabled versions store vocabulary and practice information in Supabase, associated with an anonymous account and an installation identity stored in Apple Keychain. A device identifier is not a guarantee of recovery on another device.

If you enable MCP, you confirm a short-lived connection request in the Kiki app holding your library. An email address is not required. When you approve a connection, the selected assistant can access the categories you authorize: vocabulary, adding words, or progress. An account identifier is shared through authorization. Previously authorized identity fields may also be shared if they already exist on your account. Notes require an explicit request. Your assistant provider controls how it handles information after receiving it.

Choices, retention and deletion

You can edit or delete vocabulary in the app and export your library. Removing an app does not necessarily remove iCloud information, Keychain records, purchase records, backups, provider logs or copies previously sent to another service.

For access, correction, deletion or a privacy concern, contact us at the address above. We may need to verify that a request belongs to your library. Information needed for purchases, security, legal obligations or backups may be subject to different retention periods. We do not promise a fixed deletion period that our providers do not support.

The website

This website does not load advertising or third-party analytics scripts. Hosting still involves processing network requests. The MCP connection page keeps its temporary polling secret in page memory rather than browser local storage. App access and refresh tokens are not sent to this page. The server temporarily retains hashed pairing secrets and the authorization result. Do not share connection codes or approve requests you did not start.

Service providers and your rights

Processing may occur outside your country. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your personal information, object to certain processing, or complain to a data protection authority. Contact us to exercise an applicable right.
